This is an urgent maintenance update for Help & Manual 6 that unfortunately affects most HM6 customers: when you start Help & Manual 6 on December 31 or later, it might start as an evaluation version and say that the evaluation period has expired. Re-entering your registration information does not help.
This is a bug in Help & Manual 6 that we have fixed today with the update to version 6.02 build 2352. The updated version is available from our download page and additionally as a patch-only setup (18 mb) from this link:
http://download.ec-software.com/help-and-manual-setup-602-patchonly.exe
If you use the patch update, please do not uninstall your existing installation of Help & Manual 6. Just install the patch over the existing version.
This was certainly not the Happy New Year posting that we indended. Things like this should never happen and it’s the first time this happened to us in 14 years. We apologize for the inconvenience and the trouble it caused and wish you a Happy New Year nonetheless!

Thanks for handling this so well! For me, the fix was simply installing 6.02, and I was back in business. Maybe it’s more of a hassle for concurrent users. Things happen.
